Apidura have released a fully certified, packable high visibility vest

Bikepacking bag brand releases new easily stored reflective high visibility vest for use in ultra-endurance competitions

Bike bag brand Apidura have added a new item to their range this week: a reflective and easily-packed cycling vest.

The Apidura packable visibility vest is targeted at riders who are looking for a high-visibility garment that can be used in competition, such as ultra-endurance racing.

What makes this vest noteworthy is that it has been certified to EN 17353 standards, something that is uncommon for high-visibility cycle clothing, meaning it has reflective and high-vis properties suitable for use in medium-risk situations.

Apidura went about designing this vest with one sole purpose: visibility. This garment has not been designed to offer any sort of insulating properties or weather protection, and it is this that has allowed them to make the vest so packable. When not in use the vest can pack down into a storage pocket within the garment itself.

Adjustable straps allow for a bespoke fit that can accommodate being worn over a hydration vest

Although the vest only comes in two sizes (S/M and L/XL), the addition of adjustable straps with eight positions allows for a tailored fit as well as being able to accommodate being worn over a hydration vest or bulky kit.

In most ultra-endurance events, and in some countries, a compliant high-visibility garment must be worn by riders at night time. This has often ruled out a lot of cycling-specific options as they do not have the formal certification that is required.

The certified vest is lightweight and packs down in to its own pocket when not in use

The Apidura packable visibility vest is available to buy in mid-September directly from Apidura.

It will retail for £45 / €52 / $58 and is available in sizes S/M and L/XL
